Event Description
Last year, the Futures Forum on Learning launched the global Tools Competition to fund edtech tools, technologies, and platforms to combat the crisis of pandemic-related learning loss and build the field of learning engineering. The competition generated significant interest—receiving nearly 900 proposals from 55 countries. Following a multi-phase judging process, 18 winning teams, made up of entrepreneurs, learning scientists, and researchers from around the world, were selected to receive more than $1.5 million in funding.
We are excited to announce that we will launch this year’s Learning Engineering Tools Competition on July 7th. Thanks to a growing number of sponsors, we expect to award at least $3 million in prizes to teachers, students, researchers, technologists, and edtech leaders more than double the previous year’s prize purse. This will be one of the largest edtech competitions ever convened.
We launched the second round of the competition on July 7th with remarks from leaders in the edtech space, including Newsela’s Dan Cogan-Drew, Zearn’s Shalinee Sharma, and Kahn Academy’s Sal Khan.
