MANAGING DIRECTOR

Meg Benner is a nationally recognized expert in education technology and innovation. She designed and now oversees the annual Learning Engineering Tools Competition—a multi-million dollar initiative that supports cutting-edge edtech solutions by harnessing digital technology, big data, and learning science.

As Managing Director of The Learning Agency, Benner directs a broad portfolio of projects, ranging from AI-driven technical development to the administration of large-scale grant programs.

Previously, she served as Senior Director at Leadership for Educational Equity, managing a team responsible for fellowship programs and policy workshops for former or current teachers. She has shaped education, disability and labor federal policy while working on Capitol Hill, where she worked for both the House and the Senate. She served as a policy advisor for Representative George Miller House on the Committee on Education and the Workforce, as well as education advisor for both Senator Richard Blumenthal and Senator Christopher Dodd.

Benner began her career as a first- and second-grade teacher in the Bronx and Washington, DC. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in Teaching from Pace University.
