KENT FISCHER

DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

Kent Fischer brings experience in communications strategy, education improvement, and media relations. He has worked in senior communications roles in higher education, consulting, and education nonprofits. For 17 years, he was a reporter covering education, and for a decade, he served on the Board of Directors of the national Education Writers Association.

As Communications Director at the National Center for Teacher Residencies, Kent oversaw strategic communications. As a Vice President with the communications firm GMMB, he helped lead the firm’s K-12 and higher education work with the Gates Foundation. As a reporter, Kent was regularly recognized as one of the best education journalists in the country writing for The Dallas Morning News and the St. Petersburg Times.
